i. 1645 posts of Constable (UB), 2300 posts of constables (AB) in Assam Police & 1 post of Constable (UB) in APRO in pursuance of Advertisement issued on 06-10-2023.

ii. 114 posts of Constable (UB) and 1 post of constables (AB) backlog posts for Hills Tribe category in Assam Police in pursuance of Advertisement issued on 06-10-2023.

iii. 58 posts of Boatman in Assam Police in pursuance of Advertisement issued on 06-10-2023.

iv. 654 posts of Driver Constable in Assam Police in pursuance of Advertisement issued on 06-10-2023.

v. 204 posts of Constable of Police (Communication), 2 posts of Constable (Dispatch Rider), 2 posts of Constable (Messenger) & 2 posts of Constable (Carpenter) in APRO in pursuance of Advertisement issued on 06-10-2023.

The Assam Police Recruitment selection process involves four stages:
1. Physical Standard Test (PST)
The PST is an eligibility test that includes:
– Height measurement
– Weight measurement (proportionate to height and age)
– Chest measurement (for males)
– Preliminary check-ups:
    – Knock knee
    – Vision test
    – Color blindness test
    – Flat foot
    – Varicose vein
    – Physical deformities
2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
The PET consists of:
– Race:
    – Male: 3200 meters in 14 minutes
    – Female: 1600 meters in 8 minutes
– Long Jump:
    – Male: 335 cm (3 chances)
    – Female: 244 cm (3 chances)
– Chin Up (Male):
    – Less than 4 chin-ups: Disqualified
    – 4-14 chin-ups: 10-20 marks
3. Written Test
The written test consists of:
– 100 multiple-choice questions
– Total marks: 50
– Each correct answer: 0.5 marks
– No negative marking
– Question paper languages: Assamese, Bodo, Bengali, English
– Subjects:
    1. Elementary Arithmetic
    2. General English
    3. Logical reasoning/Mental ability
    4. Assam’s History, Geography, Polity, Economy
    5. General Awareness/General Knowledge and current affairs
4. Oral/Viva Voce
The final stage involves an oral or viva voce test. Candidates are shortlisted based on their performance in the PET and written test. The selection process may also include document verification, and candidates must provide duly attested copies of their documents.¹
